Hi everyone, my name is Skyler and I am one lucky girl!
My journey with The Devoted Barn started when a nice man found me limping down a street in Detroit. He knew something was wrong, so he took me home and called someone to get me help. A little while later a wonderful lady named Melissa showed up to see how she could help. She rushed me over to Michigan State University's Animal Hospital where they took great care of me! They said I had some sort of old injury on my side that was full of infection. To get rid of the infection they put a drain in my side until it was all gone. My drain has been removed and I'm quickly healing.
Now I'm just about ready to move on to my next step - my furever home! I love it her in my foster home but I'll soon be ready to have my very own family that I'll stay with forever. I am a very smart, active 4-5 month old pup that LOVES to work! I've been busy learning tricks and commands that keep my mind busy while I'm healing. The best home for me would be with a family that understand I will need to work and has the time to make that happen!
Some of the stuff I like to do are go for rides in the car, meet new people, hanging out with other dogs, see what the world has to offer, and snuggle! My foster mom has been working with me on potty training and says I'm doing great - I won't go in my kennel and I try my best to hold it until I get outside, she tells me that will get easier as I get a little older.
Once I get the all clear from my vet I'll be ready to start my next adventure in life - will it be with you?
